LOL is a personal assistant for the people and moments that matter to you. It helps you set reminders, keep track of birthdays and anniversaries, and find gift and trip ideas that suit you and the people you care about.

LOL is an affiliate service. We don’t sell products, take bookings or handle payments. When you choose “Add to basket”, “Check availability” or a similar button, LOL opens the retailer’s or travel provider’s own website in your browser.

• Any purchase or booking is between you and that provider, under their terms, prices and returns policy.
• We may receive a commission from qualifying purchases. This never adds to the price you pay.
• Prices, availability, ratings and delivery details come from our partners and can change. Where a price shows “Price as of”, it was correct when last checked — always confirm the details on the provider’s site before you buy.
• We never embed partner checkouts inside LOL and we never see your payment details.

• You must be at least 16 to create an account, and the details you give us should be accurate.
• Keep your password safe. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash — we can’t read them.
• If you sign in with Facebook, Google or Apple, that provider confirms who you are and its own terms apply to that sign-in. We receive only basic profile details: your name, email address, profile picture and an account identifier.

LOL uses AI to understand what you ask, suggest gifts and trips, and word reminders and tips. It’s designed to be helpful, but it can get things wrong — please check important details such as dates, times and prices before you rely on them.

Please don’t share sensitive information (for example health or financial details) in the chat.

You can tell LOL about friends and family — their first name, relationship, interests and key dates — so it can remind you and suggest thoughtful ideas. Only add information you’re comfortable holding about them and that you’d be happy for them to know you’ve noted.

• LOL never contacts the people you add.
• Exact dates of birth are encrypted and are only ever shown to you.
• You can edit or delete a person, and everything saved about them, at any time.

What we keep

Your account details (name, email address or mobile number), your interests, the people and occasions you add, your reminders and bookmarks, your notification choices, and a record of which partner links you open so affiliate commission can be tracked.

Data minimisation with our AI provider

To find recommendations we send our AI provider only what it needs: an age band, gender, interests, the occasion, your relationship to the person, a budget and rough timing such as “in about two weeks”. We never send the names of the people you add, exact dates of birth, email addresses, phone numbers or account identifiers.

The chat assistant sees your own profile and the first names, relationships and interests of the people you’ve saved so it can help you in conversation, but anything it passes on for recommendations is reduced to the minimal details above. Partner product descriptions are only processed by AI where the partner allows it.

Third parties

• Retailers and travel providers receive only what your browser sends when you open their site from LOL, plus an affiliate tag. We don’t share your profile or the people you add with them, and their own privacy policies apply on their sites.
• Service providers that run LOL for us — hosting, email delivery, push notifications and our AI provider — process data only on our instructions and only to provide the service.
• We don’t sell your data and we don’t use advertising cookies.

Notifications, location and cookies

We only ask for permissions such as notifications or location when they’re useful — for example when you set your first reminder — and we explain why first. You can change them at any time in Settings or your browser. LOL uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in.

Your choices

You can see and correct your information in the app, and deleting your account removes your profile, the people you added, your reminders and your bookmarks.

• Use LOL for your own personal, non-commercial organising.
• Don’t try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to harass anyone.
• Don’t add information about other people that you have no reasonable basis to hold.

We may update these terms as LOL grows. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect. You can stop using LOL and delete your account at any time from Settings; we may suspend accounts that break these terms.
